Cork bark, harvested from the cork oak tree, is a unique addition to creating a natural habitat/vivarium for reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and other exotic critters. Completely natural and environmentally friendly, cork bark is harvested or stripped from living cork oak trees. The bark grows back approximately every nine years when it can be harvested again. Natural cork is light weight, heat resistant, rot resistant, non-toxic, buoyant, and easily cut with a regular wood saw. Each piece of cork bark has its own unique character and creates a beautiful, natural resting or hiding place. Cork bark is also excellent to establish mosses, most orchids, air plants, staghorn fern, and other epiphytic like plants.
